UNIT HISTORY

 

            Pursuant to paragraph 1, General Orders Nr 179, Headquarters Philippine Army, the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Military Police  Command (NVMPC) was organized and activated on October 1945. Since then, its name had been changed for five times: 1) Headquarters Nueva Vizcaya Constabulary Command (NVCC); 2) Nueva Vizcaya Philippine Constabulary/Integrated National Police Command (NVPC/INPC); 3) Nueva Vizcaya Philippine National Police Provincial Command (NVPPC); and 5) Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office (NVPPO) pursuant to General Orders Nr 931 Police Regional Office 2 dated October 1996.

 

            To ably cope with its operational functions, two (2) Regular Philippine Constabulary (PC) Companies were organized: The 113rd PC Company based at Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya pursuant to paragraph 1, Special Orders Nr 17 Headquarters Nueva Vizcaya Constabulary Command dated 27 August 1966 and the 117th PC Company based at Diffun, Quirino pursuant to paragraph 1, General Orders Nr 117, Headquarters Philippine Constabulary dated 1 May 1968.

 

            Pursuant to Republic Act 4734 as amended by Republic act 554, the Sub-Province of Quirino was reconstituted into a regular province effective 1 January 1972. As a result of this legislation, a new Constabulary Command was organized at Cabarrouguis, Quirino and the 117th PC

 

            On 8 August 1975, by virtue of Presidential Decree 765, the Integrated National Police was constituted and organized with the Philippine Constabulary as its nucleus and the Municipal Police, Jail & Fire Forces as components. In accordance with Section IV of PD 765 and Chapter IV of the INP Rules and Regulations, the Philippine Constabulary/Integrated National Police Command (PC/INP) was organized and the Police Stations were placed directly under the Provincial Commander who is the concurrent Police Superintendent of the INP.

 

            The Nueva Vizcaya PC/INP Command had been on existence from 8 August 1975 up to 1 January 1991, the birth of the Philippine National Police.

 

             Republic Act 6975, otherwise known as the Department of Interior and Local Government Act of 1991 provides for the merging of the Philippine Constabulary and the Integrated National Police. Thus, the birth of Nueva Vizcaya Vizcaya Philippine National Police Provincial Command (NVPNPPC).

 

             Nueva Vizcaya Philippine National Police Provincial Command (NVPNPPC) existed from 1 January 1991 to 26 July 1994; Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Command (NVPPC) from 26 July 1994 to 1 October 1996 and finally the Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office (NVPPO) from 1 October 1996 to date.

 

              Since August 8 was the Integration of the Integrated National Police (INP) to the Philippine Constabulary (PC) and January 1, 1991 was the birth of the Philippine National Police (PNP), August is celebrated as the PNP Recognition Day while, January 1, is celebrated as the PNP Day Anniversary.

 

              The Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office has fifteen (15) Police Stations under its operational jurisdiction; Alfonso Castaneda, Ambaguio, Aritao, Bagabag, Bambang, Bayombong. Diadi. Dupax del Norte, Dupax del Sur, Kasibu, Kayapa, quezon, Solano, Sta Fe & Villaverde.

​​                    The Heaquarters of Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office is stationed at Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya manned by six (6) Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) and thirty (30) Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs). The 1st Provincial Mobile Group is adjacent to the Provincial Headquarters with two (2) Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and fifty-nine (59) Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs). The 2nd Provincial Mobile Group with two (2) Police Commissioned Officer (PCOs) and fifty one (51) Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) is based in Brgy Pelaway, Alfosnso Castaneda, Nueva Vizcaya. The fifteen (15) Police Stations which are located in the fifteen (15) Municipalities of the province are manned by eighteen (18) Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and two hundred ninety one (291) Police Non Commissioned Officer (PNCOs).
